Novo Laptop/New Laptop

Bom, arrumei um laptop de um amigo e já instalei o Debian GNU/Linux nele.

Pretendo usá-lo junto com o novo FT-817 que consegui numa troca e com o GPS USB que comprei.

Um pequeno detalhe para acertar a configuração do X.org foi adicionar uma pequena linha no /etc/X11/xorg.conf:


Section "Monitor"

     Identifier "LCD"

     Option "DPMS"

     HorizSync 30-57

     VertRefresh 43-72

     DisplaySize 281 211

New Laptop

I just bought a Dell C600 from a friend. The Debian installation went as smooth as it gets (i.e.: totally smooth), after dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, X went up without any glitches, but something was a bit weird.
After googling a bit and reading something here and there, I finally glued
this and
this together and got a very fine xorg configuration with 92x92 dpi as per the Clemson article:

Palm e eTrex

Hoje foi o segundo dia de testes com o novo cabo que eu fiz para conectar o meu palm m125 ao eTrex Venture.

Infelixmente, devido ao tempo horroso que está fazendo, e a uma constelação medonha, o teste foi inconclusivo.

Da janela que estou usando para os testes, minha visão é de apenas meio céu. Vejo de NW até SE e só até o zênite. Isso sendo otimista.

Consegui ver 4 satélites.

Bom, vou sair de férias.

Quero levar as tralhas, mas não sei se vai dar, já que minhas antenas ainda não funcionam, e outras coisas que eu ainda não descobri.

Também não consegui instalar o cygwin no windows XP e portanto também não tenho DHCP na minha redinha lá de casa.

Ai que saco.

This is my new (same as former) callsign.

Although I received it by the end of the year, I haven't aired it since long.
Now, that I am finishind my new antenna project - a buddi-like-pole - I may start to get on air more frequently.
